Chief Compliance Officer Hybrid Remote

Our client, a FinTech company with an expanding range of services, provides merchants with seamless and cost-effective alternative payment methods. For individuals, it offers a convenient and secure way to pay for products and services. Their account solution delivers an intuitive and user-friendly payment experience for both consumers and merchants. Founded in Cyprus, they are regulated by the Central Bank of Cyprus as an Electronic Money Institution and aim to facilitate more convenient business and consumer transactions.

The client is growing and is seeking to hire an experienced Chief Compliance Officer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Establish, implement, and maintain adequate compliance policies and procedures to ensure the company’s full compliance with regulatory authority requirements.
• Be responsible for the complete and accurate provision of regulatory information required both internally and externally.
• Ensure monitoring to assess the company’s adherence to regulatory requirements and organize and assist with internal processes.
• Provide advice and assistance on compliance-related matters to other functions.
• Handle communications with the regulator and other supervisory authorities.
• Stay updated and proactively implement new policies and procedures or updates to employees in a timely manner, providing training where necessary.
• Monitor developments in the local, EU, and international regulatory framework, identify requirements and standards applicable to the company, and create an implementation plan.
• Review and identify compliance risks associated with business practices, third-party agreements, products, and services and mitigate those risks.
• Deliver expert technical and regulatory support to the Executive Team as needed to enable them to make informed decisions and achieve strategic goals within the relevant regulatory framework.
• Act as a key stakeholder and responsible in compliance-related processes and development projects.
• Ensure that the company meets its regulatory requirements.
• Produce and submit periodic compliance and risk reports to the company’s management and regulator.

Key Requirements & Skills:

• University Degree in Law, Economics, Finance, or Banking.
• AML and/or any other related certification is a must.
• More than 3 years of experience within an EA/EEA regulated institution in combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing in payments, including online payments (acquiring).
• Understanding of industry standards and best practices in the fintech domain, as well as global financial regulations, including those of the European Banking Authority.
• Solid knowledge of anti-fraud as well as the anti-bribery and corruption evolving regulatory framework.
• Understanding of the nature of evolving online business activities that require payment acceptance on their websites.
• Hands-on experience with systems, databases, and technological solutions related to AML/CTF.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written.
• A dedicated and trustworthy individual.
